I am on to 'I' and 'J' with my alphabetical bestiary of animals. So, here are paintings of an Ibis (generic term for a long legged wading bird) and a Jellyfish.
And two abstract (I don't like that term) paintings.
I like this latter one - it seems very 'full on'.

Untitled abstract
I really like this one - started off angry then became more aesthetic.
Painted it in 2 hours on Friday.
Untitled
Untitled (with fish) - I used a strawberry to paint the pink diamond shape at the middle top of the picture.
Elephant
I wanted to paint a picture of an elephant that was 'trapped' in some way - but not obviously caged.

wow
A long time without updating this blog. A mixture of trauma and elation!
Binary divides rock now.
I'll put up lots of pics in the next couple of months.

Happy 2015!
So, finally got back into my studio yesterday. It's the start of a new era when I will be there for about 4 days a week. Over the last 6 months I have been having a lot of difficult feelings about being made redundant at the university and the engaged art work I have been doing on Foxhill council estate.
I decided to do a spontaneous drawing that would start to get these feelings out. Here it is with some details as well.

It was a series of violent acts and it shook me up quite a bit. Didn't realize how angry I was.
It's called For all the bullshit in my life. Could be the start of something good.

progress
Over the last couple of months I've been working on about 5 paintings and also finishing off the Yorkshire Artspace work with Stuart and Callum. We have an exhibition at 35 Chapel Walk between the 12th and 17th January. After that I'll paint, paint, paint.
